{Virginia} A Copper + Lavender Wedding in Richmond
From Don Mears Photography: “A historic train museum in Downtown Richmond served as the quintessential backdrop, with its “Old City” vibe and distinctively elegant setting. Personalized details abound as the couple paid homage to each of their respective professions. Dee wove herbs and spices into the décor as a nod to Patrick being a chef, with lavender, star anise, cinnamon sticks, crab apples and kumquats dominating the arrangements. Dee, a physician, scoured the internet for vintage medicine bottles to use as bud vases. Copper accents lent formality to the look, with rustic avocado green and browns serving as the color scheme. The bride and groom opted for a First Look; Dee shares, “After five years together, a year planning, and an entire day of primping, it felt so good to just give each other a hug and know that it was really time.”
Everything about this wedding is just AMAZING — the bridesmaids with their cardigans and lavender bouquets; the brown glass bottles that decorated the rustic reception; the delicious pies; the finale of a spectacular sparkler display. I just wish I had been there to get my own tiny bottle of vanilla extract — who knew a food favor could be so charming?
