{North Carolina} A Rainy Day Wedding at The Howard House

Faith Teasley Photography, a North Carolina member of our Southern Vendor Guides, sent us this beautiful Dunn, North Carolina wedding. Now that we’re able to share it with y’all, I can admit that I had secretly stared at and pinned this wedding like crazy when I first saw it on Faith’s blog. Not only are the sparkler shots amazing, but anyone who knows me knows a wedding in a historical venue is one of my ultimate favorites.

From Faith Teasley Photography: ““I can’t believe I’m marrying my best friend.” I heard these words from both Chris and Sarah before they saw each other on their wedding day. Chris and Sarah were so incredibly excited for their wedding… but they were even more excited to be marrying their best friend! Chris and Sarah opted to do a First Look a few hours before their 7pm ceremony. Their First Look was so precious. They even exchanged letters they had written to each other. After the First Look, we did portraits of the bride and groom, bridal party, and family formals. Although rain was not forecasted, storm clouds rolled in moments before the ceremony which was to take place outside. Right as the ceremony began, it started to thunder and rain. For safety reasons, everyone piled inside The Howard House for a spontaneous ceremony site change. Although they were slightly disappointed, Chris and Sarah’s ceremony was still beautiful. After the ceremony, their reception began, and they danced the night away. We were all relieved that we had already created beautiful portraits before the ceremony even began. This is one of the many reasons why I love when my couples opt to do a First Look. Not only is it a beautiful, intimate moment for a couple on their wedding day, it always creates a smoother timeline for the couple to enjoy their day to the absolute fullest. After the reception, Chris and Sarah made their grand exit complete with sparklers!”
