{Florida} A Romantic Vintage Wedding by Kelly Canova Photography

weddings in the SouthSkeleton keys, blue silk ribbons, paper flowers and handmade bouquets set the tone for this vintage-inspired Florida wedding.  Although time intensive, the look of handmade paper flowers is just lovely, especially if you’re a DIY bride at heart.

“David and I met in the summer of 2005 at a prayer meeting at church.  I have never met someone I could trust so dearly and that loves me for who I am–the good, the bad, the ugly.  I had always wanted to have something unique about my wedding that was eye catching and memorable.  That’s what led me to the idea of making paper flowers instead of using real ones.  I spent hours upon hours, even months working on them.  I made every flower used in my wedding (minus the eight white roses in my bouquet and the baby’s breath for a filler).  The paper I used to make the roses also helped bring out the vintage feel I was going for at the reception.  I was so happy with how everything turned out.  I wouldn’t change a thing.”
