This North Carolina backyard wedding is so lovely; it makes us think of gardens, plantation homes, and everything we love about having a wedding in the South. Add to that one of the most amazing little wedding cakes we’ve seen, and this wedding is just perfection!
From whitebox weddings: “Liz and Dave got married at Liz’s sister’s AMAZING house in Pinehurst, North Carolina. The ceremony was in the backyard under the pine trees. The wedding looked elegant and expensive, but it was done on a budget. The bride’s dress was her sister’s; her friends did the flowers and her make-up. The flowers were gorgeous! Liz and Dave are a lovely couple. They are so sweet and shy and their wedding reflected their personalities with its understated elegance.”
I am absolutely head over heels in love with this wedding. Picture it: hollowed out pumpkins with pansies planted inside, mason jars filled with wildflowers, string lights, uncorked red wine at each table, a hot buffet dinner, and one attendant each. Beautiful, intimate, and personal–the wedding was held in the backyard of the bride’s family home. The transformation of a suburban backyard into a colorful garden perfect for a wedding ceremony is enough inspiration to last me all week!
With Summer fast approaching, I thought this next wedding was super sweet. And Gypsy Tree Photography (based in Pennsylvania) always knows the way to my heart–she is my honorary Southern gal. Sunflowers decorate the cupcakes. The bridesmaids are dressed in alternating red and orange dresses. In the photos, traditional stuffiness is exchanged for fun poses. The girls hide their faces with their bouquets, hold prop mustaches in front of a “silver bullet” camper, and blow air kisses on the farm.
