Enchanted Fairytale Bridal Inspiration by Crystal Stokes Photography

fairytale bride, fairytale wedding inspirationOnce upon a time… the loveliest bridal inspiration from Charlotte, North Carolina, ended up on MY desk.  What a darling thing photographed by Crystal Stokes Photography!  Not only does this bridal styling incorporate so many of my must-haves for bridal perfection (shimmering gold, lace wedding gowns, swirling white calligraphy, chic vintage furniture pieces…), but it brings with it the magic of fairytales.  For every bride, whether you spent countless girlhood hours spinning in circles in a princess costume or not, today’s bridal inspiration is just unmissable!

From Magnolia Events: “Above the hustle and bustle of a busy city street, a chic bridal boutique was transformed into an enchanted forest.  It was easy to forget about the outside world when the creative minds of some of Charlotte’s finest wedding vendors collaborated to create this unique atmosphere.  The overall feel of the shoot was soft and romantic, while mixing the beautiful elements of nature and metallic metals...

(Continued from above) The bride wore two classic stunning ball gowns.  The first gown by Modern Trousseau, accompanied by gold vintage inspired accessories, transitioned the bride into the dreamlike setting of the enchanted forest.  She carried an elegant, botanical garden bouquet with gently dripping amaranths, soft blush ranunculus, and fluffy peony.  Tendrils of crème stock accented the green succulents, scabeosa pods, and light lavender allium.  Poppy pods and tender green antique green hydrangea pulled together the adorned moss handle.  Her second look was a tulle gown by Jim Hjelm. The gown flowed gently through the garden setting where a whimsical old wooden swing hung from the ceiling of the boutique; glass orbs dangled from the flower and ivy covered wooden arbor.  She was adorned with a gorgeous jewel and flower crown and a vintage gold beaded cameo necklace.  The bride carried an additional round bouquet with pops of soft golden baby’s breath that surrounded elegant, crisp gold cymbidium orchids,  hand tied with gold ribbon, lace and broaches.

Moss, lanterns, pearls, tree trunks and gold candle sticks made for a dramatic cake backdrop.  Soft, lush flowers in crème, green, blush pink, and light coral accented the metallic golden cake replete with sugarpaste ferns.  The cascade of glistening baby’s breath, golden cymbidium orchids, blush roses, succulents, pods, stems of hydrangea, ivy,  larkspur, and ranunculus draped from the top tier to the floor.  The “nature meets metallic” theme was carried throughout the shoot down to the invitations.  The bronze envelopes held a beautiful hand calligraphy invitation and response card with pressed flowers.

The shoot was truly a unique and magical setting.  A fairytale was brought to life.”
