{North Carolina} Mariah + Benson in Love in Old Salem

Are you ready for a sweet love story?  Marissa Joy Photography captured Benson and Mariah in Old Salem, North Carolina.  Their engagement photographs are just plain awesome.  Here’s to hoping the two lovebirds enjoyed the South.  Their Utah wedding is less than a month away!

“When my older brother called home from a mission he was serving for our church and told me that he “had found who I was going to marry,” I laughed and rolled my eyes.  I was 16.  Apparently, though, his new friend Benson was “just perfect for me.”  That was kind of the beginning of it all…

Benson proposed surrounded by the beautiful scenery of Snow Canyon State Park in St. George, Utah, with my family all waiting just a few yards down.  He had an awesome vintage-style book made that contains our whole story, with pictures and all.  On the last page of the story, the ring box was sitting in a cut-out of the pages.  I love this treasure almost as much as that moment when he used it to pop the question.Our wedding will be here in less than one month!  We will be married in the LDS Salt Lake City, Utah temple, and will have two receptions–one in Utah for my family, and one in California where he is from.  Both will be modern-vintage in style complete with lots of lace, ribbon, and things that sparkle.  My colors are mustard yellow, petal pink, ivory, and slate grey.  I am most excited about seeing everyone that I love and sharing our special day with them.  I also can’t wait for the dance party and photobooth!”  A sweet congratulations to Mariah + Benson!Location: Old Salem, North Carolina
