A Raleigh Wedding at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences

North Carolina Museum of Natural Science weddingI’m seriously in love with this wedding.  Does it help that Carolyn Scott Photography was there to capture all the gorgeousness?  Yes, it sort of does — she’s taking OUR pictures this July!  But the icing on the cake for me is the reception at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences… nothing says southern romance like a little bit of prehistoric goodness and dinosaurs on the wedding cake, y’all.  I may be a bit of a nerd for saying that, but it’s true!  And the gorgeous colors of the Raleigh landscape add to the drama and “wow” of this wedding.  Fun fact: the bride, Brooke, speaks Japanese!

{North Carolina} Inn at Corolla Light Wedding by Libby McGowan Photography

white rose bouquet, wedding blogWe love Libby McGowan Photography.  Sure, we kind of say that about every photographer we meet.  But Libby is that person you can talk to, confide in, laugh with until you’re weak in the belly and your problems disappear.  And her photography rocks, too, and that doesn’t hurt a thing.  Today’s Duck, North Carolina wedding makes us nostalgic for the ocean breeze, the Outer Banks, and salt water taffy.  And it reminds us of everything we love about coastal weddings… and there’s plenty to love, y’all.

{North Carolina} A Timeless Wedding by Graham Terhune Photography

North Carolina wedding blog, timeless weddingsWe have a beyond amazing North Carolina wedding to share with y’all today.  Since we’ve been doing this for a while now, I {Amy here} can confess that I have a list of photographers I adore.  I really just love them.  And to me, featuring even a snippet of their work is always a dream come true.  If put to paper, it would likely end up being a ridiculously long list… I always keep finding more amazing people all over the South.  But when a wedding from Graham Terhune Photography landed in our inbox, my heart did a double back flip.  I hope y’all enjoy this wedding as much as we have!

From Graham Terhune Photography: “Kendall and Josh were married on a beautiful Saturday in early March.  They were surrounded by so many of the family members and friends who were delighted to show their support as Kendall and Josh entered into the most sacred covenant with one another.  When we spoke with Kendall and Josh before their wedding day, we asked them to describe the three most important elements to shine in their wedding photographs.  Their response: their mutual love for Christ, their love for one another, and their love for their friends and family.  The details of the wedding were traditional and lovely, but the loveliest detail of all is the genuine love between two best friends who became husband and wife.”  Congratulations, Kendall and Josh!

{North Carolina} A Southern Fête by Anna Routh Photography

southern, wedding blog, garden weddings, Southern FêteAnna Routh Photography brightens our afternoon with this oh so pretty North Carolina wedding day.  The ceremony, held at The Atrium in Wilmington, gives us that sweet “garden wedding” vibe we’re craving this season, while never straying far from its Southern roots.  From the bride’s awe-inspiring Rivini gown to the pale pink roses of her bouquet, this precious wedding is a little bit vintage, a little bit classic, and totally lovely and just our style; they served cupcakes at the reception, y’all!  Congratulations to Jamie and Clint for rocking a spectacular wedding day!  Jamie, you’re an incredible and gorgeous bride!

{North Carolina} Christmas Wedding Inspiration by A.J. Dunlap Photography

Christmas bridal bouquetWe had the good sense to realize that many brides in the midst of their wedding planning frenzy might be considering a holiday wedding.  So, despite the temperature change {we are loving how warm it is, aren’t y’all?} and the flowers in bloom everywhere, we had to shine the spotlight on this intimate Christmas wedding captured by one of our preferred North Carolina wedding photographers, A.J. Dunlap Photography.

Orchestrated in seven short weeks, we’re in love with the sweet first look, the bride’s fur stole, and the fact that her grandfather was present to walk her down the aisle.  And you won’t ever see us turn down a Christmas cupcake, so we pretty much adore that, too.  Jamie, the bride, shares with us: “As wonderful and beautifully as everything came together, nothing can top the excitement and love that was in the air.  I cried like a baby at times with pure joy to be marrying such a wonderful man and into such a loving family, and I love that the pictures really capture the love and happiness of the day — the beginning of our happily ever after! Of everything on our special day, this is by far the best part!”
