{North Carolina} A Southern Belle and Her Ballet Slippers

ballet slippers bridal inspirationTo say we’re in love with this North Carolina bridal sesh at the Raleigh Rose Garden… that just doesn’t cut it!  We’re over the moon, ecstatic, elated, every good word one might think of.  The lighting is gorgeous, the gown — a Priscilla of Boston — is one of our favorites of all time, and of course we’re longing for ballet slippers of our very own now!  And we’re feeling so blessed that Robyn Van Dyke Photography considered us to showcase the absolute beauty in these portraits.  If you want to see more of Robyn’s work, you should look at this classic North Carolina wedding next!

From Robyn Van Dyke Photography: “This BEAUTIFUL southern belle chose to have her bridal portraits on a gorgeous spring day.  I love that she wore ballet flats underneath her wedding dress to bring out the fact that she loves dancing and ballet!”

{Georgia} A Whimsical Bridal Session by Lauren Rae Photography

whimsical bridal sessionThis is one of the prettiest bridal sessions we’ve ever seen.  We know you might think we say that practically every time!  In our defense, we do kind of love and obsess over weddings in the South.  But, really… this whimsical bridal session from Lauren Rae Photography is extra gorgeous!  With a vintage chair, unique necklaces, and a beautiful bride rocking her eyeglasses, what’s not to love?  Totally adore, y’all, and we think you will, too!

{North Carolina} A Farm Bridal Session by A.J. Dunlap Photography

farm wedding blogEver since A.J. Dunlap introduced us to Chicken Caesar pizza, we’ve been sort of, kind of, totally in love with her.  It might seem off topic, but I promise you it’s one of the best things in. the. world.  If all that goodness wasn’t enough, we’re already in love with her photography.  Her wedding portraiture is the stuff of dreams, and she has the ability to capture such beauty and North Carolina sweetness while remaining a wonderful professional and friend.  That’s our rant on A.J, lovelies!

{South Carolina} A Charleston Bridal Session by Diana Deaver Weddings

Charleston bridal inspirationHi y’all… Amy here.  I usually like to refer to The Lovely Find team as “we” and “us,” and it’s true that we’ve grown leaps and bounds in the last year.  I’m no longer just a little bit off my rocker for speaking in the plural all the time.  But, I had to come out of my wedding blogger comfort zone today to talk about this Charleston bridal inspiration.  You see, I actually had the opportunity to meet the gal behind Diana Deaver Weddings last year.

Shortly after a {very} early retirement from a traditionally respected career in the medical field, I wasn’t as excited about the future as I had imagined I would be.  In a way, I was treading water.  Over lunch, I poured my soul out to Diana about not feeling connected to my ideals anymore — after knowing her for all of ten minutes!

Looking back, lunch with Diana was a turning point for The Lovely Find, and for me as its’ owner.  Diana helped me to feel comfortable with myself, and with what I wanted to be known as… a wedding blogger.  “Both of your careers are matters of the heart,” she said, and that ideal has echoed again and again.  Thanks to Diana, we are comfortable saying that our philosophy on what makes a wedding “beautiful” is not just the quality of the favors or the cost of the wedding gown, but how much heart and love it has.  It’s not just about lovely weddings, but about lovely vows, lovely lives together, and lovely marriages.

I hope y’all love this sweet Charleston bridal session as much as we do {there’s my “we” again}; here’s to an amazing week of inspiring weddings in the South!

{North Carolina} A Sweet Carolina Bridal Session by Amore Vita Photography

North Carolina wedding blogWe love this North Carolina bridal session by Amore Vita Photography — not only is it super sweet, but it also sheds light on a secret truth of bridal sessions.  Kelly’s bridal session didn’t happen perfectly a few months or weeks before her wedding like she might have planned, but over six years after her wedding day.  Six years and one son later, Kelly stepped back into her lovely wedding gown for a simply gorgeous session at Davidson College.  We love her for this, don’t y’all?
